Description
A mesmerizing pattern of flower buds on an unseemly place, on top of a barrel cactus. Quite possibly the most beautiful juxtaposition I've ever seen in nature. The Sonoran Desert in Tucson, Arizona is full of exciting wildlife. More photos to come. This art would be wonderful in an office or home space that you want to feel more uplifting and inspiring.

The fish-hook barrel cactus blooms during the summer monsoon season, as long as they are mature enough to do so. It's no surprise that they do, because in order to reproduce, they have to have flowers and a pollinator, like bees. This is a gorgeous barrel cactus with so many buds about to flower, some flowers closing for the day, and a few of the flowers have already gone to fruit. I love to photograph these beauties every summer. I just photographed some red blooms on October 2nd, at Saguaro National Park-East. Other cacti in the Tucson area bloom in the springtime, April-June. Thank you for submitting this shallow depth of field photography, to my art group. Liked

Janet, thank you for featuring my work and for the additional description of these beautiful cactus flowers! I didn't realize that cacti bloom in different seasons, as I just arrived in Tucson in July, just in time for monsoon season!
